It has been eight months since the announcement of the termination of C2 and ARM instances in April 2020. During this period, we sent you several communications, both by email and phone, which we hope were useful.
We are now at the end of the process: as planned, C2 and ARM instances are to be terminated between December 1 and December 3, 2020.
To best support you during the changes, we decided to carry out the following steps:
- December 1, 2020 - ARM64 & C2 instances session pricing will be set to €0. Each ARM64 instance will be powered-off, their related local SSD volumes will be detached and then the instance will be terminated. That way, data hosted on local SSD volumes of your instance(s) won't be deleted as the volume is backed-up in our SCW Object Storage and you still have access to it. Be warned that volume (and the object storage backup) and flexible Public IPs are still charged if you do not delete them yourself.
- December 2, 2020 - Flexible & Dynamic Public IP will be detached from C2 instances to force a service interruption as a final warning. You will still have an extra 24 hours to migrate your instances. Be warned that flexible IPs are still charged if you do not delete them yourself.
- December 3, 2020 - Each C2 instance will be powered-off, their related local SSD volumes will be detached and then the instance will be terminated. Data hosted on local SSD volumes of your instance(s) won't be deleted as the volume is backed-up in our SCW Object Storage and you still have access to it. We remind you that Local SSD volumes that are directly connected to C2 servers (DSSD) will be erased when the C2L will be powered-off.
